In this article, you’ll find the fastest cars in GTA Online listed below. Please note that it’s assumed in all cases that you’ve upgraded your car at a Los Santos Customs Mod Shop or the LS Car Meet with performance enhancing components like Race Transmission, Turbo Tuning, and Engine EMS Upgrade 4. This obviously adds to the overall cost of the car, but also significantly boosts the performance of the vehicle. Also, keep in mind that we’re not including rocket-boosted cars like the Vigilante or Scramjet on this list.
There is quite a lot of debate within the GTA Online community about what is factually the fastest car in the game. Some have paired Low Grip Tires with Lowered Stance to extract insane performance out of cars like the Karin Calico GTF. However, while this kind of setup can result in ridiculous top speeds, the strategy only really works in drag race-style scenarios, as the cars are almost impossible to control around corners.
For the purposes of this article, we’re focusing on the fastest cars in GTA Online that perform optimally under normal play conditions. That is to say that all of the cars on this list can be used to weave in and out of busy Los Santos traffic, travel to objective markers, and complete quests. You’ll also be able to race some of these cars as well, depending on the lobby conditions.
Benefactor BR8

The Benefactor BR8 is effectively a Formula One car, so as you can imagine it moves extremely swiftly. This car glues to tarmac surfaces, and despite accelerating into outrageous top speeds, its braking power will ensure you never overshoot a corner. This one can be outfitted with a KERS upgrade, pushing it closer to the category of rocket-boosted cars, but seeing as real F1 vehicles also benefit from this technology we’re giving it a pass.
Dewbauchee Vagner

- Price: GTA$1,535,000
The Dewbauchee Vagner, a prototype hypercar, is an absolute dream to drive around Los Santos. In terms of pure speed, this car shifts dizzyingly fast, and the downforce generated gives it outstanding traction, meaning it glides around corners. It’s also worth keeping in mind the price of this one: you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck here.
Grotti Itali RSX

- Price: GTA$3,465,000
Unquestionably one of the fastest sports cars in GTA Online, the Grotti Itali RSX can outpace many super cars due to its aerodynamic profile and raw power. Its braking isn’t the best, and handling can be slightly unstable even on tarmac, but it’s still a scintillating option in the sports car category.
Ocelot Pariah

Widely regarded as one of the fastest cars in GTA Online, the Ocelot Pariah is another sports car that can hold its own against super cars. It does have a tendency to become unstable over bumps, so is best suited to clean stints of road without too many bends or corners. The sheer power of the car means that it does have a tendency to lose traction coming out of corners, but it more than makes up for this when accelerating out into straights.
Pfister 811

In many tests conducted online, the Pfister 811 is the fastest car in GTA Online. However, while it is frighteningly fast in sprints down straight stretches of road, it does struggle with its handling coming through corners. This shouldn’t deter you too much — the car is relatively inexpensive and performs perfectly well around long, easy corners — but it’s a reminder that the fastest car is not necessarily always the best car in practical terms.
